Chapter 25 - Daniel’s Company Falls

Daniel’s lender called the debt.

His company entered bankruptcy.

Investigators found that he used business funds for personal expenses.

The lake property could not be touched.

Daniel sold his luxury vehicle.

Denise’s jewelry was listed among personal assets.

Their large suburban home went into foreclosure.

Daniel asked Margaret for a private loan.

He called it temporary.

Margaret declined.

“You can place conditions on it,” he said.

“The condition is that I do not finance another lie.”

He accused her of enjoying his failure.

She did not.

Watching her son lose his business caused real grief.

But grief did not make rescue wise.

Daniel needed to experience the difference between tragedy and consequence.

The company did not fail because Margaret refused him.

It failed because he borrowed recklessly and promised property he did not own.
