Chapter 15 - Denise’s Private Messages

Tyler made another choice.
He showed Rebecca messages between Denise and the lender.
Denise had promised that Margaret was “easily pressured.”
She described her as elderly, emotional, and dependent on family approval.
She wrote:
ONCE DANIEL RAISES HIS VOICE, SHE GIVES IN.
Margaret felt cold despite the dry clothes.
Denise had studied her too.
Not with affection.
With calculation.
One message mentioned the lake gathering.
Denise promised to secure the signature by Sunday night.
The lender warned that failure would trigger foreclosure on Daniel’s actual home.
That was why Denise kept filming when Margaret begged for help.
The humiliation was meant to weaken her before the documents appeared.
Evan’s shove had taken the cruelty further than planned.
But Denise’s laughter showed she accepted it immediately.
Margaret asked:
“Did you know Evan intended to push me?”
Denise shook her head.
“No.”
May you like
“Did you stop recording when he did?”
Denise had no answer.
