Douglas Vane accepted a plea agreement.
He admitted preparing fraudulent documents, transporting Emily after the assault, and helping conceal evidence.
His testimony placed Mrs. Gable at the center of the plan.

He believed his mother’s attorneys would protect him.
Then he learned Mrs. Gable had prepared documents naming him as the sole architect of the scheme.
She intended to claim he acted without her knowledge.
