But activation no longer depended on hidden authority.
Every use generated an automatic record accessible to independent reviewers.
Rachel wanted no future agent trapped inside a system that could erase its own mistakes.
During Black Echo’s final classified operation, agents recovered Meridian’s overseas weapons archive.
No dramatic firefight occurred.
Financial freezes and coordinated arrests dismantled the remaining network.
The last file contained a photograph of Rachel and Jessica as children.
They stood beside their father’s factory, holding oranges from a picnic basket.
Someone had marked Rachel with a black circle.
Jessica with a silver line.
Meridian had planned their roles before either understood the world.
Rachel destroyed no evidence.
She placed the photograph in the official archive.
