Caroline Reed and Linda had grown up together.
Both loved Richard.
Richard chose Linda.

She certified Vale’s false death.
She also created medical clearances that allowed Meridian agents into secure facilities.
Caroline did not build Meridian.
She made it impossible to trace.
Her role became so essential that even Vale took orders from her.
Harbor One was not a single commander.
It was the medical network Caroline controlled.
Hospitals were her harbors.
People entered under one identity and left under another.
The system could hide operatives, erase deaths, or declare living witnesses deceased.
Caroline had personally monitored Rachel since childhood.
The accident that led to Rachel’s Black Echo-compatible medical implant was no accident.
Caroline arranged it.
She wanted Rachel marked and trackable.
Linda struggled to accept the evidence.
“She delivered both my daughters.”
Rachel answered:
“She also gave Meridian access to our medical records from birth.”
Caroline contacted Linda directly.
She offered a trade.
Rachel for Jessica.
If Linda delivered Rachel to a private clinic, Caroline would erase all evidence against Jessica and Richard.
Linda immediately informed Marcus.
Years earlier, fear would have controlled her.
Now she chose transparency.
Black Echo traced the call to an abandoned neurological hospital outside Hartford.
Rachel insisted on joining the operation despite her injuries.
Marcus refused.
Then Caroline sent a live video.
Jessica was unconscious on a hospital bed.
She had disappeared from her apartment twenty minutes earlier.
