The jury returned after eleven hours.
Daniel was found guilty of assault, identity theft, attempted wire fraud, conspiracy, coercion, and falsifying financial records.
Vivian was convicted of conspiracy, fraud, attempted theft of charitable funds, identity theft, and obstruction.
Marcus received probation under a cooperation agreement.
He had preserved the footage and helped expose the plan.
At sentencing, the judge addressed Daniel first.
“You transformed marriage into a mechanism for access. When legal documents failed, you used public violence.”
Daniel received twelve years in prison.
Vivian received eighteen.
Her longer sentence reflected the scale of the financial scheme and her attempt to steal charity money.
Both were ordered to pay restitution.
The unauthorized loans in Claire’s name were voided.
The banks admitted their verification procedures had failed.
Daniel’s future interest in Ellison Event Group was permanently forfeited.

The Mercer family’s hotel debt became immediately due.
But Claire did not force the Mercer Grand to close.
Through the court-appointed receiver, the hotel entered restructuring.
Vivian’s luxury apartment was sold.
Daniel’s investments were seized.

The hotel remained open under new management.
Employees kept their jobs.

The family name remained on the building only because Rose had requested it.

The marriage was annulled.
Legally, Claire and Daniel were treated as though the marriage had never existed.
Outside the courthouse, a reporter asked Claire whether the prenup had saved her.
Claire considered the question.
“The prenup protected assets.”
She touched the place on her cheek where the bruise had once been.
“The cameras protected the truth.”
Then she looked directly into the lens.
“But the moment I stopped protecting his reputation is what saved me.”
The wedding gifts were returned or redirected with each guest’s approval.
Every dollar intended for the children’s medical fund remained with the charity.
Rose’s $500,000 check was used to support hotel employees affected by the restructuring.
Claire kept only one item from the wedding safe.
