Chapter 3 - The Man Who Admired Her Strength
Grant met Emma at a rehabilitation fundraiser.
She was demonstrating adaptive kitchen equipment designed for children recovering from serious injuries.
Grant watched her patiently help a frightened seven-year-old fasten a support brace.
“You make people feel capable,” he told her afterward.
It was exactly the kind of compliment Emma trusted.
He did not praise her appearance.
He praised her work.
During their first year together, Grant appeared thoughtful.
He brought dinner to the clinic when she worked late.
He repaired shelves in Michael’s garage.
