The remote notary admitted the video session had been arranged by the company’s chief operating officer.
The officer had worked with Trevor for years.
He approved Mercury’s debt disclosures.
He removed risk warnings from board documents.
He also paid the notary through a consulting account.
Investigators searched his office.
They found emails showing that Trevor had promised him a permanent executive position after Mercury gained control.
The plan reached far beyond one forged transfer.
Trevor intended to remove several independent directors.
He would replace them with people loyal to him.
Victoria would become honorary chairwoman.
Ethan would remain the public owner but possess no practical authority.

Ethan attended remotely from the hospital, where Brooke was being examined.
Doctors documented bruising across her shoulder, arms, ribs and leg.

A trauma counselor sat with Brooke while Ethan spoke to the board from the hallway.

Ethan did not accept excuses.
“My wife tried to contact this company’s legal department,” he said. “Her calls were redirected to the people harming her.”
The attorney confirmed that Trevor had changed the internal contact routing.
Brooke’s messages never reached him.
The board voted to remove Trevor from every position.
Victoria’s access to family offices and accounts was suspended.
Mercury’s transfer was formally rejected.
Independent auditors were appointed.
When Ethan returned to Brooke’s room, she was staring at the city through the window.
“It’s over?” she asked.
“The transfer is.”
“That isn’t what I meant.”
Ethan sat beside her.
“No. The rest will take time.”
Brooke looked down.
“Your mother will say I destroyed the family.”
Ethan took her hand carefully.
“She helped Trevor destroy it when she chose money over your safety.”
Brooke finally looked at him.
“Do you believe every word?”
“I believe what I saw. I believe what I heard. And I believe you.”
