Chapter 14 - THE CHILD CLAIRE PLANNED TO CLAIM

Claire’s plan began with Hannah’s removal.
After the wedding, Hannah would be accused of stealing from the estate.
Beaumont-controlled police officers would arrest her.
Dr. Vale would declare the pregnancy unstable and transfer her to a private clinic.
After delivery, Hannah would be told the baby had died.
The child would be moved under falsified records.
Months later, Claire planned to announce her own pregnancy.
She had already begun fertility treatments.
If those failed, the stolen child could be introduced as a privately delivered Carver baby with records altered through Dr. Vale.
Victor’s messages were brutally practical.
DANIEL NEEDS AN HEIR HE BELIEVES CAME FROM CLAIRE.
The plan explained why Claire had not tried to cause immediate miscarriage earlier.
She wanted the child alive.
She wanted Hannah frightened, isolated, and publicly discredited.
The gala humiliation served two purposes.
It established Hannah as unstable and resentful.
It also warned her that no guest would defend a servant against the future Mrs. Carver.
Daniel read the messages inside the prosecutor’s office.
He left the room before his anger controlled him.
Marcus followed.
“You cannot approach Claire.”
“I know.”
“Do you?”
Daniel faced the wall.
The man he had once been would have answered betrayal with death.
The father he wanted to become had to choose law.
“I will testify,” he said.
“Against your fiancée?”
“Against everyone.”
That included Daniel himself.
He admitted the Carver organization had previously used bribery and intimidation.
He disclosed family accounts.
He accepted potential charges related to businesses inherited from his father.
His attorneys warned him.
“You could lose the estate.”
“It was used to imprison Hannah.”
“You could lose control of the companies.”
“Then employees deserve a better structure.”
Hannah learned of his cooperation from the news.
Reporters described Daniel as a crime boss turning state witness against his own network.
Some called it strategy.
Others called it weakness.
Hannah knew what it cost him.
At her next appointment, Daniel arrived without guards.
He sat in the waiting room beside ordinary families.
The ultrasound showed the baby growing normally.
The technician asked whether they wanted to know the sex.
Hannah looked at Daniel.
He waited for her decision.
“Yes,” she said.
The technician smiled.
“It’s a girl.”
Daniel covered his mouth.
Hannah began crying.
Their daughter kicked against the screen.
For several minutes, the empire, court cases, and betrayal disappeared.
Then Daniel’s attorney called.
Claire had offered to plead guilty to assault and fraud.

Her condition was complete immunity for Victor.
👉 Claire was willing to sacrifice herself for her father—but investigators suspected Victor had ordered far more than the conspiracy against Hannah.
