Chapter 11 - THE TRUSTEES WHO KNEW TOO MUCH

The Carver Continuity Trust had three senior trustees.

Martin Hale.

Daniel’s uncle Sebastian.

And attorney Leonard Price.

Martin had protected Daniel.

Sebastian supported the Beaumont merger.

Leonard claimed neutrality.

Investigators discovered Sebastian had received two million dollars through a Beaumont-controlled company.

Leonard’s law firm had drafted the heir memorandum Claire kept hidden.

Both men knew Hannah’s child might activate the trust.

Neither warned Daniel.

At an emergency trust hearing, Sebastian argued that the paternity test could have been manipulated.

Daniel placed the laboratory certification on the table.

“Hannah completed this before the gala.”

“Under what name?”

“Her own.”

Sebastian looked toward Hannah, who attended by secure video from the hospital.

“You expect this family to transfer power based on a servant’s claim?”

Hannah’s expression remained calm.

“I expect the trust to follow its own rules.”

“You were paid by this family.”

“I worked for this family.”

Sebastian smirked.

“There is little difference.”

Martin spoke before Daniel could.

“The difference is consent.”

Leonard attempted to delay recognition until the child was born.

The trust document stated that a medically viable pregnancy confirmed through independent testing triggered temporary protection.

Hannah’s doctors confirmed viability.

The clause activated.

Daniel received full interim voting authority.

The Beaumont merger became legally impossible without his consent.

Sebastian’s payment disqualified him.

Leonard was suspended pending investigation.

Martin remained the only trustee without financial conflicts.

Daniel used his new authority to remove every Beaumont representative from the family companies.

He also placed the unborn child’s future shares into an independent trust Hannah would help oversee.

“You do not control my child’s future alone,” Hannah told him before the vote.

“I agree.”

Several family members protested.

Daniel did not change the terms.

Hannah would receive equal authority over the child’s trust regardless of whether she married Daniel.

That decision mattered to her more than promises of love.

After the hearing, Sebastian secretly contacted Victor from a monitored phone.

“The child ruined everything.”

Victor replied, “Only if it is born.”

Federal agents traced the call.

Victor was already in custody, but the message revealed he still had people inside the Carver estate.

That night, the hospital fire alarm activated on Hannah’s floor.

A man wearing a maintenance uniform entered the evacuation corridor.

He carried a syringe.

Martin recognized him from the Beaumont security team.

👉 Even with Claire and Victor arrested, someone was still trying to make sure the Carver heir never left the hospital.
