Chapter 13 - Stopping the Upload
My fingers flew across the laptop keyboard with speed.
I typed the emergency military override command code sequence.
Alpha, Delta, Seven, Nine, Zero, Kill.
The progress bar froze at ninety-nine percent mark.
A bright red box flashed across the laptop screen:
UPLOAD TERMINATED BY FEDERAL ADMIRAL OVERRIDE.
A massive collective sigh of relief filled the cabin space.
The top-secret sonar blueprints were saved from foreign hands.
The national security breach was completely prevented in time.
Commander Miller checked the wounded asset's pocket wallet.
He pulled out a diplomatic passport stamped from Russia.
"Subject is confirmed foreign intelligence operative, Admiral," Miller.
"We secured the primary server and all backup drives."
I looked down at the foreign agent on floor.
"Who gave you the access codes to base, operative?"
The foreign agent sneered, spitting blood onto floorboards.
"Your father didn't act alone, Admiral Claire," he.
"He had a partner inside your own military command."
"A partner who provided the primary encryption security keys."
My blood ran ice cold in my veins once again.
There was a high-ranking traitor inside Navy high command.
Someone working alongside my father for five long years.
"Give me a name," I growled, stepping closer to.
The operative laughed mockingly, refusing to utter another word.
Commander Miller pulled out his satellite phone, making call.
"NCIS central command, we secured the primary target yacht."
"We have a secondary mole operating inside high command."
"Issue an immediate security lock on all admiral credentials."
The phone line crackled as headquarters responded with news.
"Commander Miller, we just detected an unauthorized login."
"Someone is accessing Admiral Claire's personal security files now."
"The login IP is coming from inside the base."
My heart pounded violently against my chest as I listened.
The mole was erasing my security clearance right now.
