"Who was the buyer, Commander Miller?" I asked.
Miller tapped the tablet screen, opening an encrypted email file.
The buyer was listed under a covert intelligence code name.
Code name: GHOST NETWORK operating out of Eastern Europe.
The wire transfers totaled one hundred million dollars cash.
The Bennett corporate empire was a front for espionage.
Richard used his real estate firm to traffic military intelligence.
My family was involved in the highest level treason.
My chest tightened as I realized the immense scope.
This was no longer just a local family revenge story.
This was a national security crisis involving foreign powers.
"Did they transfer the sonar files yet?" I asked.
"The final file transfer was scheduled for tonight, Admiral."
Miller reported, checking his encrypted military wrist watch.
"The transfer code is set to execute at midnight."
"We need to locate the foreign asset in city."
"Where is the signal originating from?" I demanded firmly.
"The signal is coming from a yacht in harbor."
A luxury yacht registered to a foreign shell company.
