Celeste received a lengthy federal prison sentence.
Her townhouse was sold.
Her jewelry was auctioned.

Bellhaven’s remaining funds went to investor restitution.
Michael received a shorter prison sentence because of his cooperation.
He was banned from managing investments or handling client funds after release.
His professional licenses were revoked.
Arden Legacy Partners was dissolved.
The Sapphire Room paid regulatory penalties for allowing private financial services without proper verification.
It created new rules requiring direct confirmation from every guarantor named in member transactions.
Lucia received probation and a financial-industry ban after helping investigators recover records.
The investors received most of their principal through seized assets, insurance settlements, and Mariana’s recovery fund.
Nathan Cole wrote Mariana a letter.
He thanked her for helping people she was not legally required to help.
Mariana responded with one sentence.

“You look well.”

“So do I.”
“I really believed you would open it.”
“I know.”
He looked down.
“I thought everything we used became ours because we were married.”
“No. You thought everything I loved became yours.”
His eyes filled.
“Did you ever consider forgiving me?”
“I have forgiven parts of myself.”
He looked confused.
“For staying silent. For confusing support with self-erasure. For believing your embarrassment mattered more than my safety.”
“That’s not what I asked.”
“It’s the answer I have.”
Michael pressed his palm against the glass.
Mariana did not raise hers.
“I did love you,” she said.
His face broke.
“But love is not authorization.”
She placed the phone down and left.
Outside, Gustavo waited beside the car.
He did not ask what Michael said.
He opened the door for his daughter.
