Alexander answered before the first ring ended.
Sophia’s voice was quiet.
“Dad… ruin his life.”
He heard the pain in her breathing.
He also heard Nathan laughing in the background.
Alexander stood.
“It’s already begun.”
For six weeks, Vale Meridian’s legal and financial teams had prepared emergency actions.
Ryan’s files proved fraud.
Sophia’s recordings proved coercion.
Nathan’s planned asset transfer triggered Vale Meridian’s protective rights.
Alexander had delayed acting only because Sophia wanted the evidence complete.
Now the delay ended.
The legal team notified every major lender.
The banks froze Nathan’s personal signing authority.
Vale Meridian recalled the unused portions of three credit facilities.
Independent directors received the complete evidence file.
A court application seeking emergency asset protection was filed electronically.
Private security and police officers already waiting nearby moved toward the Beverly Hills house.
Inside the living room, Nathan’s phone began vibrating.
He ignored the first alert.
Then another appeared.
CREDIT FACILITY SUSPENDED PENDING FRAUD REVIEW.
Madison’s phone rang.
Her attorney’s name appeared.
She answered.
“What?”
Her face went white.
The Malibu house had been frozen as a disputed asset purchased with company funds.
Nathan looked toward Sophia.
“What did you do?”
Sophia remained on the floor.
“I called my father.”
Nathan laughed once.
“The poor businessman?”
The front door opened.
Ryan entered first.
Behind him stood two Vale Meridian attorneys, private security officers and a Beverly Hills police detective.
Ryan looked at the bruise on Sophia’s face.
His shock became disgust.
“Mr. Brooks… we have an emergency.”
Nathan pointed at the attorneys.
“Get out of my house.”
The lead attorney opened a document.
“The residence is owned by a property fund controlled by Vale Meridian.”
Nathan stared at him.
“That fund is one of our investors.”
“It is your controlling creditor.”
Madison rose from the sofa.
“Who authorized this?”
A second voice answered from the doorway.
“I did.”
Alexander Vale entered wearing a black suit.
Sophia looked up.
Nathan looked from Alexander to his wife.
Recognition arrived slowly.
He had seen Alexander on magazine covers and financial broadcasts.
Every major developer knew the name.
Nathan’s face lost all color.
Alexander crossed the room and knelt beside Sophia.
He removed his jacket and placed it around her shoulders.
Then he looked at Nathan.
“You struck my daughter.”
Nathan’s lips parted.
“Your daughter?”
