The wedding ended without a first dance.
Guests submitted videos and photographs to Robert’s legal team.
Every angle showed Diane’s actions.
The moved place card.
The stranger approaching Megan.
The false agents entering.
Even the early mockery became relevant because it proved Diane intentionally isolated Megan before the attempted theft.
Lauren changed out of her wedding dress in a staff room.
She emerged wearing a simple coat borrowed from the wedding planner.
Evan waited near the head table.
“Please come home,” he said.
Lauren looked at him.
“Which home?”
“Our house.”
“The one your mother helped buy?”
“That does not make it hers.”
“No. But it makes you afraid to oppose her.”
Evan promised to change.
Lauren asked whether he would testify against Diane and surrender the security search records.
He hesitated.
That hesitation answered her.
Lauren walked away.
Megan watched from the doorway.
“You can stay with me tonight,” she said.
Lauren looked surprised.
Megan added, “One night. Then we make a plan.”
It was not complete forgiveness.
It was a beginning.
Robert arranged secure transportation.
Daniel left with Megan to retrieve the serial plate from the family archive.
Before they departed, Robert looked at the empty ballroom.

Now every chandelier, phone, and security camera had recorded the collapse of that lie.
