Margaret’s house was seized because stolen funds had paid the mortgage, renovations, and furnishings.

Claire expected her to sell it immediately.

On opening day, a woman named Tasha arrived with two children and a trash bag of clothing.
Her husband had opened loans in her name and emptied their savings after she tried to leave.
Tasha stood in the doorway.

Evelyn handed her a folder.
