Claire surprised them all.
She entered the boardroom wearing a simple navy suit and carrying the same document pouch she had pointed to from the hospital stretcher.
“I will not continue this company under Ethan’s name,” she said.
The board remained silent.
She announced that Cole Meridian Group would be dissolved and restructured as Bennett Housing and Renewal.

Money recovered from offshore accounts would repay investors, employees, and communities harmed by Ethan’s schemes.
A large portion of Claire’s restored inheritance would fund emergency housing and legal support for survivors of domestic violence.

Rosa received the retirement fund Ethan had illegally withheld.
Claire also created a medical-legal partnership with Gabriel’s hospital so abuse victims could speak privately to advocates before returning home.
Reporters asked why she did not simply walk away from the company.
Claire answered calmly.
“Because walking away would leave his damage behind. I want to repair what he used me to build.”
Months later, Ethan pleaded guilty after his co-conspirators agreed to testify.
