Chapter 8 - WHAT CLAIRE PLACED ON THE TRAY
Claire assembled the evidence like a meal.
The red lingerie came first.
It had been delivered to the corporate apartment Daniel claimed was used for visiting executives.
The purchase appeared on a company card.
A photograph from the building lobby showed Vanessa carrying the package upstairs.
Next came images of the affair.
Hotel entrances.
Private dinners.
Daniel kissing Vanessa inside a car purchased with stolen funds.
Claire did not include them only because adultery hurt.
They established that Daniel and Vanessa concealed a personal relationship while approving each other’s corporate payments.
Then she added the bank statements.
Fake freight invoices.
Wire transfers into Gloria’s property company.
Payments toward Daniel’s gambling losses.
A loan financing Clara’s failed boutique.
Most of Daniel’s relatives had accepted money without asking where it came from.
Some believed Daniel was generously sharing his success.
Others knew enough to remain quiet.
The USB contained stronger evidence.

Audio of Daniel and Vanessa discussing the share-dilution plan.
Gloria instructing Daniel to call Claire unstable.
Video of earlier assaults.
A copy of the false medical report.
Mara warned Claire that presenting the evidence publicly could become emotionally overwhelming.
“You do not need to perform strength.”
“I’m not performing.”
“What are you doing?”
“Taking away the room they use to rewrite me.”
The final item was the family agreement Gloria planned to force her to sign.
Sophie had photographed it after Vanessa left a copy on the office printer.
Claire printed the full version.
Its hidden pages transferred voting authority, released Daniel from liability and converted several premarital assets into marital property.
Gloria intended to show relatives only the first page, titled Marriage Restoration Plan.
Claire folded the agreement beneath the bank records.
The day before dinner, Detective Morales obtained arrest warrants covering the clearest fraud charges.
He also secured authority to seize devices if Daniel attempted violence or evidence destruction.
Claire packed a small bag and sent it to Mara’s office.
She did not plan to sleep in Daniel’s house again.
On Sunday afternoon, Gloria arrived carrying flowers and acting cheerful.
Vanessa came later in a red dress.
Daniel kissed Claire’s cheek in front of the family.
“Let’s have a peaceful evening.”
Claire looked at the hand that had struck her before.
“Of course.”
