The safe-house attack happened when Daniel threatened to deliver evidence to an inspector general.

One to a journalist Daniel had trusted.
Then Sarah returned to the gala.
Guests remained under questioning.
Elias and Arthur had been detained.
Jonathan sat alone among overturned chairs.
He looked at Maya.
“I am sorry.”
She answered:
“You are sorry because your father lost.”
