Catherine took Daniel through the medical service corridor.
She did not threaten him with a weapon.
She used familiarity.
She told him Sarah was dangerous.
She said the ballroom attack had triggered traumatic memories.
Daniel followed because her voice had controlled his life for years.
By the time Sarah discovered their absence, Catherine’s car was moving through the estate’s east gate.
A tracking device hidden in Daniel’s hospital wristband transmitted weakly.
Helen had placed it during the examination.
Sarah pursued with Adrian and Maya.
She wanted Maya to remain behind.
Maya refused.
“He might remember me.”
Sarah hated the risk.
But Daniel’s response to Maya in the ballroom proved she might reach him where Sarah could not.
Catherine drove toward the old Blackout safe house.
The building still stood, abandoned beyond a wooded road.
She entered with Daniel.
Inside, dust covered scorched walls.
The place where two agents died.
Catherine positioned Daniel before an old recording console.
She wanted him to state that Michael alone ordered the attack.
That confession would reduce her role.
Daniel stared at the burned room.
Memories returned violently.
He remembered Catherine giving the location.
He remembered her warning that the assault would be controlled.
It was not.
Michael changed the operation.
He sent armed men instead of a retrieval team.
Catherine had betrayed the safe house.
Michael turned that betrayal into a massacre.
Both were responsible.
Sarah entered with her weapon lowered.
Catherine held a syringe near Daniel’s arm.
“Stay back.”
Maya stepped around Sarah.
“Dad.”
Daniel looked at her.
Maya removed the photograph from the locker.
Sarah.
Daniel.
The old team.
She held it out.
“You made this for me to find.”
Daniel focused on her face.
“Maya.”
His first clear recognition.
Catherine’s hand trembled.
Daniel pulled away from the syringe.
Catherine lost control without ever being struck.
For years, she ruled him through confusion.
