Diane’s trial began eleven months after Noah’s hospitalization.
Elena entered the courtroom wearing a simple blue dress.
Ryan walked beside her but did not touch her until she reached for his hand.
Diane faced charges including child endangerment, unlawful restraint, conspiracy, forgery, trust fraud, identity misuse, and obstruction.
Chloe testified first.

“Then Diane’s concern was not entirely invented.”
Elena remained calm.
“Concern brings help. Control removes choices.”
The attorney displayed a video of Elena shouting.
“You appear angry.”
“My baby was sick, my keys were gone, and the door was blocked.”
“Did you strike Diane?”
“No.”
“Did you bite her hand?”
“When she covered my mouth to stop paramedics from hearing me.”

Context returned to every cropped moment.
Ryan testified last.
He admitted ignoring Elena’s boundaries.
Diane watched him with tears streaming down her face.
“I loved you more than anyone,” she said when permitted to speak.
Ryan answered quietly.
“You loved being necessary.”
The jury convicted Diane on every major count.
She received a long prison sentence.
Her properties and seized accounts were used for restitution.
Chloe received a shorter sentence because of her cooperation but was still convicted of assault and child endangerment.
She was ordered to repay stolen trust funds after release.
Before Diane was taken away, she looked at Elena.
