Three hours later, Claire joined the Haven House board meeting from her hospital bed.
Emily adjusted the laptop so Claire could keep Noah against her chest.
Tessa sat beside her.
Maya attended from the foundation’s legal office with the forensic records displayed on a secure screen.
Several board members looked uncomfortable.
They had received Daniel’s emails describing Claire as unstable.
Some had repeated his language without ever speaking to her.
Claire did not begin with anger.
She began with facts.
“Seven million, four hundred thousand dollars was transferred through false vendors.”
Maya displayed the invoices.
“Patient services were cut to hide the missing money.”
Emily explained how mobile visits had been canceled.
A clinic director described women waiting weeks for postpartum blood-pressure checks.

“Daniel told us the center was losing money.”

Another board member asked whether Claire had approved the accounting changes.
Maya opened the digital access logs.
Every authorization attributed to Claire had been entered from Daniel’s office computer while Claire was attending medical appointments.
Her signature had been copied.
Her password had been used after Daniel unlocked her tablet while she appeared asleep.
The board went silent.
Claire looked directly into the camera.
“For months, questions about missing patient care were described as emotional reactions. My pregnancy was used to make reasonable oversight sound irrational.”
Two board members lowered their eyes.
Howard spoke quietly.
“We failed you.”
“You failed the patients first.”
No one defended Daniel after that.
The board voted unanimously to terminate him for cause.
Sabrina was removed.
Every Northline contract was canceled.
Margaret House was placed under permanent charitable protection.
The board also approved emergency funds to restore canceled patient visits.
Then Tessa presented the trust’s final safeguard.
Because Daniel attempted fraud during Claire’s medical recovery, all voting authority returned directly to Claire once her physician confirmed she was capable.
The obstetrician had already provided that confirmation.
Claire did not need to wait six months.
