Tessa asked security to remain outside while Claire learned the truth.
Daniel stood near the window.
He would not look at her.
“Who is Lily Ross?”
“She has nothing to do with this.”
“Three million stolen dollars say otherwise.”
Daniel pressed both hands against the windowsill.
“Her mother and I were together before you.”
Claire waited.
Daniel finally admitted that Lily was his daughter.
She had been born one year before he met Claire.
The child’s mother, Rachel Ross, lived in Virginia.
Daniel had never told Claire because he claimed Rachel wanted privacy.

“You stole from postpartum patients to support a child you hid from me?”
“I was trying to make up for lost time.”

“No. You would have judged me.”
Claire looked down at Noah.
Daniel had hidden Lily because the truth would expose the image he had created.

The initials stood for Noah, Lily and Rachel.
Daniel had planned a future that included his hidden daughter, her mother and Claire’s unborn son.

Maya found a draft custody proposal in Daniel’s cloud account.
After Claire was declared unstable, Daniel intended to seek temporary custody of Noah.
He planned to move both children into the house purchased for Rachel.
Sabrina did not know about Rachel.

Tessa contacted Rachel through her attorney.

He also told her Claire planned to abandon Noah after birth because she cared only about her career.
Rachel agreed to provide every message and financial record.
