Victoria claimed Nathan controlled Silver Fountain Consulting.
Nathan claimed his mother created the system before he became chief executive.
Both were partly correct.
Richard established Silver Fountain.
Victoria maintained it after his death.
Nathan expanded it when Vale Crest began failing.
The shell company paid their personal expenses.
It also filled temporary cash gaps inside the business.
Each transfer made the next one easier to justify.
Nathan told investigators he believed the employee funds would be replaced after Dante invested.
Victoria called the deductions an internal loan.
Employees called them stolen wages.
Forensic auditors calculated that more than forty-six million dollars was missing.
Medical claims had been denied.
Retirement accounts had gone unfunded.
Several former employees lost homes while waiting for disability benefits that Vale Crest had already deducted from their pay.
The fraud was not abstract.
Elena met Luis and other workers through the labor attorney.
Some initially resented her connection to Dante.
They believed another powerful family would take Vale Crest and forget them.
Elena understood.
She did not ask for trust.
She brought records.
She asked what they needed.
“Money returned,” Luis said.
“Health coverage restored.”
“Proof we weren’t stupid for believing our paychecks.”
Elena carried those demands to the Vale Crest board.
The company was under temporary court supervision.
Lenders proposed liquidation.
Selling every hotel would repay banks first.
Employees might receive little.
Dante offered Moretti Holdings as a buyer.
Elena objected.
“You cannot replace one family empire with another.”
“The hotels need capital.”
“Then create independent ownership.”
They developed another plan.
Profitable properties would remain open.
Luxury assets belonging to Victoria and Nathan would be sold.
Recovered shell-company funds would restore employee accounts.
A portion of company equity would move into an employee trust.
No Moretti or Vale family member could hold unilateral control.
Dante provided emergency financing under independent oversight.
He received no private management rights.
The board accepted.
Nathan heard the news in custody.
He accused Elena of stealing his inheritance.
She answered through counsel.
“You stole from the people who built it.”
Victoria requested a private meeting with Elena.
She offered information about Richard Vale and Rosa in exchange for help reducing her sentence.
Elena agreed only if investigators attended.
Victoria entered the interview room without purple silk or diamonds.
She looked smaller.
