Chapter 8 - The Poisoned Tea

They wheeled me into a private, secure trauma room.
Two armed federal agents stood guard outside my door.
A kind female doctor named Doctor Miller examined me.
She hooked up IV fluids to warm my body.
She pulled three vials of blood for emergency testing.
"We need a complete toxicology screen, Emily," Doctor.
"We need to know what they gave you recently."
An hour passed quietly inside the dim hospital room.
The gentle humming of the monitors brought me comfort.
Doctor Miller returned holding a white paper chart document.
Her face was grave, her lips pressed tightly together.
"Emily, we found heavy traces of Scopolamine blood."
"Scopolamine?" I asked, my brows pulling together confused.
"It is a powerful tasteless drug," Doctor Miller explained.
"It erases memory and makes victims completely submissive."
"In high doses, it induces severe confusion and paralysis."
My mind raced back to my daily morning routine.
Every morning, Michael brought me a cup herbal tea.
He insisted I drink the whole cup for health.
He said it was good for the baby's development.
He was poisoning me with submissive drugs every morning.
That was why I felt constantly dizzy and confused lately.
That was why I couldn't fight back during arguments.
He was preparing my body for the fake asylum hold.
He was making me look mentally unstable to outsiders.
Tears of burning rage washed clean tracks through dust.
The depth of his betrayal was truly bottomless and evil.
He didn't just plan a crime today at ER.
He had been systematically drugging his pregnant wife months.
Doctor Miller held my hand gently, squeezing my fingers.
"The drug is flushing out your system safely now."
"Your baby shows zero signs of chemical exposure today."
"Your body protected the infant through the placenta barrier."
I pressed my hand against my firm, round belly.
My baby kicked firmly against my palm in response.
It felt like my child was telling me to fight.
"I am going to destroy them in court, Doctor."
I stated, my voice turning into unbreakable solid steel.

"They will pay for every single drop of tea."
