Federal auditors entered Carter Medical Logistics the next morning.
Samantha had approved dozens of contracts while Oliver was too ill to attend meetings.
His electronic signature appeared on all of them.
Northstar received $7.2 million.
Another shell company purchased a warehouse from Carter Medical Logistics for half its market value.
Lucas Vale resold it three weeks later for a profit of four million dollars.
Employees reported that Samantha often joined video meetings from Oliver’s home office.
Oliver appeared briefly on camera.
He looked pale and confused.
Samantha answered questions for him.
“She would say he was conserving his energy,” one manager explained.
“Did he ever approve the contracts himself?”
“We assumed he had.”
The independent audit showed a pattern.
Whenever Oliver questioned a payment, his health declined.
Whenever Samantha needed a signature, Dr. Kent visited.
Hours later, Oliver’s account approved the transaction.
One employee remembered carrying documents to Oliver’s bedroom.
“He was barely awake.”

Joyce took temporary control of the company through Henry’s trust clause.
Samantha’s lawyers tried to stop her.
They argued Joyce was exploiting her son’s medical crisis to reclaim power.
For years, that accusation had worked.

Joyce entered the emergency meeting wearing the same black dress she had worn to the funeral home.
“I did not come here to take my son’s company,” she said.
“I came because someone nearly took his life to keep it.”
The board suspended Samantha and froze all Northstar payments.
Lucas disappeared before federal agents reached his home.
His car was found at an airport parking garage.
No passenger record appeared under his name.
But investigators discovered he had booked a private charter to the Cayman Islands.
They stopped the plane before takeoff.
Inside his luggage were encrypted drives and two million dollars in negotiable bonds.
Lucas demanded an attorney.
He claimed Samantha created the entire plan.
Samantha claimed Lucas manipulated her.
