The jury deliberated for four days.

Jason received no interest in Elena’s trust, home, or company.
As officers led him away, he turned toward her.
“I did love you.”
Elena answered quietly.
“Then you should have loved me more than what you could take.”
She walked out of the courtroom without waiting for his response.
Outside, reporters asked whether she felt victorious.
Elena looked at the scars on her arm.
