Savannah’s attorney released photographs of Isabella crying at parties.

Nathaniel’s attorney told her Isabella had recently undergone dental surgery.
She accepted the explanation.
After viewing the study video, she surrendered every message.
One came from Savannah.

Every attempt to portray the assault as an isolated loss of control collapsed.
The violence had been part of a planned financial crime.
Nathaniel offered a plea agreement.
He would admit fraud but not assault.
In exchange, he wanted Isabella to describe the belt strike as accidental.
She rejected it.
His attorney warned that a public trial would expose intimate details of their marriage.
Isabella answered calmly.
“He relied on my fear of exposure. I’m finished protecting him with it.”
Edward wanted to stand beside her during every hearing.
Isabella asked him to sit behind her instead.
“I need to enter as myself.”
Edward understood.
The courtroom filled on the first morning.
Nathaniel looked directly at Isabella.
