Chapter 10 - The Signature in Purple Ink

Edward watched from Whitmore Global’s security center.

The video had no sound at first.

Only images.

Nathaniel closing the study door.

Savannah placing the phones on the desk.

Isabella backing away.

Edward ordered the police unit to move closer.

His attorney stopped him.

“We need confirmation that she cannot leave safely.”

Edward turned on him.

“My daughter has a bruise on her face.”

“The officers are already outside. The moment she gives the signal, we enter.”

Inside the study, Nathaniel placed a purple ink pen in Isabella’s hand.

“Sign.”

“No.”

He gripped her fingers around the pen.

Isabella pulled away.

Savannah pressed the postnup flat.

“You’re only making this harder.”

The document contained several devastating clauses.

Isabella accepted responsibility for the Aurelia payments.

She waived claims against Nathaniel’s company.

She transferred trust-management authority.

She acknowledged receiving independent legal advice she had never received.

Nathaniel forced the pen back into her hand.

Isabella stabbed the tip into the page.

Purple ink spilled across the carpet.

Nathaniel’s control broke.

He struck her with the belt.

Isabella fell.

Edward saw the movement on camera.

“Go,” he ordered.

The security team called police dispatch with the live video.

Officers entered the mansion.

Inside, Nathaniel raised the belt again.

Isabella crawled toward the desk.

Savannah grabbed her ankle.

“You’re not leaving until this is finished.”

Isabella kicked free.

Nathaniel forced her into the chair.

He placed his hand over hers and dragged the pen across the signature line.

The name ISABELLA CROSS appeared in a broken, uneven stroke.

“She signed,” Savannah whispered.

Nathaniel activated the remote notary session.

Isabella sat beneath the camera with her bruised face partly turned away.

The notary asked whether she had signed freely.

Nathaniel stood beyond the screen holding the belt.

Isabella looked toward him.

“Yes,” she whispered.

The session ended.

Nathaniel smiled.

Then the study door shook beneath a heavy impact.

Police announced themselves.

Savannah grabbed the postnup.

Nathaniel moved toward the rear exit.

The second impact broke the lock.

Officers flooded the room.

Nathaniel raised the belt.

They forced him to the floor.

Savannah screamed.

Isabella reached for the hidden phone Savannah had dropped.

She pressed the emergency call.

“Dad… he made me sign.”

The voice answering came from the hallway.

“I know.”

May you like

Edward entered.

👉 The forced signature activated Isabella’s emergency phrase, but it also triggered a trust provision Nathaniel had never discovered in the stolen documents.
