Chapter 13 - The Video That Framed Daniel
The footage lasted forty-three seconds.
It showed Daniel approaching Richard’s crashed car seven years earlier.
Daniel reached through the broken driver’s window.
Then the recording skipped.
When it resumed, Daniel stood holding a prescription bottle.
The video ended with Victoria’s voice.
“My son gave his father the drugs that killed him.”
Within minutes, reporters surrounded the hospital.

Company shares fell.

Company technicians searched the old servers.
After eleven hours, they found the crash file.
The audio began fifteen minutes before the collision.
Richard’s breathing sounded heavy.
He called Samuel.
“I feel dizzy. Victoria insisted I take something for my heart.”
Then the car swerved.
After the crash, Richard remained conscious.

Daniel closed his eyes.
