Chapter 17 - DANIEL’S LETTER
Daniel’s former attorney, Samuel Price, contacted Rachel after seeing news reports about the case.
He had retired years earlier and moved to Oregon.
When he learned that Rachel believed Daniel left almost nothing, he immediately flew back.
Daniel had created the insurance trust through Samuel’s office.
After the crash, Samuel sent the original documents to Rachel’s home.
Diane signed for the package.
She later told Samuel that Rachel was too ill to communicate and that another attorney was handling the estate.
Samuel requested written confirmation.
He never received it.
Then Diane sent him a letter appearing to bear Rachel’s signature, instructing him to close the file.
The signature was forged.
Samuel brought the original trust agreement and a sealed personal letter Daniel had written for Rachel.
Rachel opened it in a private room after the hearing.

Inside was an old flash drive containing family photographs.
