The police officers forced Margaret down the porch steps.
Her expensive peach satin dress was torn and dirty.

As they reached the police cruiser door area,
Two black federal SUVs pulled into the driveway.
FBI Special Agent Harris stepped out wearing a suit.
He held an official federal search warrant in hand.
Agent Harris walked straight up to Officer Davis.
"Officer Davis, we are taking primary federal jurisdiction."
Agent Harris announced, displaying his brass badge clearly.
"Mrs. Brooks is named in an active federal indictment."
"Interstate wire fraud, money laundering, and tax evasion."
Margaret's eyes bulged in pure, unadulterated terror now.
"FBI?" Margaret gasped, her voice cracking with fear.
"I haven't committed any federal financial crimes today!"
Agent Harris pulled out a second stack of paper.
"We seized your private bank vault an hour ago."
"We recovered four million dollars in unregistered gold."
"And we recovered the offshore bank transfer encryption keys."
"Keys that link directly to your personal email account."
Margaret collapsed onto her knees on the pavement.
She sobbed hysterically, her head hanging low down.
All her wealth, power, and status evaporated completely.
She faced decades inside a maximum-security federal prison.
Agent Harris looked at me with deep respect.
"Mr. Ethan Brooks, thank you for submitting the files."
"Your forensic audit made this federal arrest possible."
"Is your wife going to be okay, sir?"
"She is being transported to St. Jude ER now."
"I am following the ambulance to the hospital."
Agent Harris nodded solemnly, gesturing to his agents.
"We will clear the estate property scene, Ethan."
"Go protect your wife and your new baby."
I climbed into the passenger side lead ambulance.
