I guided Emma carefully through the open doorway.
Her arm was wrapped securely around my waist.
She winced with every step on the porch.

As we reached my luxury sedan in driveway,
A sleek black Mercedes pulled up behind car.
The driver door flew open with sharp thud.
A man in an expensive gray suit stepped out.
It was Arthur Vance, Margaret's private attorney.
He carried a thick leather document folder today.
Arthur Vance wore an arrogant, patronizing smirk on face.
"Ethan, stop right there!" Arthur shouted loudly.
He strode across the paved brick driveway fast.
"You cannot remove your mother's property from premises!"
I set the suitcases down, stepping in front.
"Get out of my way, Arthur," I growled.
Arthur Vance chuckled condescendingly, holding up paper file.
"I hold an emergency conservatorship order signed today."
"Your mother granted me full legal authority over estate."
"Your wife Emma is listed as a household employee."
"Removing company records or assets is a felony charge."
I looked at the corrupt lawyer with cold disgust.
Arthur Vance had helped my mother forge papers.
He received two hundred thousand dollars in kickbacks yearly.
He was the architect behind her illegal financial shield.
"Read the room, Arthur," I said in voice.
"I am not removing company records from here."
"I am taking my wife to emergency medical trauma."
"Because my mother physically assaulted her inside foyer."
Arthur's smirk faltered for a fraction of second.
He looked toward the open front mansion doors.
Margaret stood on the porch, clutching her wet dress.
"Arthur! Arrest them!" Margaret shrieked from porch.
"Ethan stole my private financial files on phone!"
"He is trying to ruin our family firm!"
Arthur Vance's eyes narrowed into slits of anger.
He reached into his jacket for mobile device.
