Ava founded a small sports rehabilitation company four years before meeting Ethan.
Her clinics helped injured athletes, veterans, and women recovering from trauma.
The business had grown quickly.
Its largest corporate client was Cole Urban Development, the construction empire owned by Ethan’s mother, Victoria Cole.
Victoria had approached Ava’s company eight months before Ethan proposed.
At the time, Ava believed the contract came from her reputation.
Now she saw the timeline differently.
Victoria had connected Ethan to her soon after signing the deal.
The contract represented nearly forty percent of Ava’s annual revenue.
The following morning, while Ethan remained in custody, Ava received a termination notice.
Cole Urban Development canceled every employee wellness program immediately.
The notice cited “ethical concerns regarding Ava’s violent conduct toward her husband.”
Attached was a short video.
It showed Ava’s kick.
It did not show the belt swinging first.
Ethan’s hidden bedroom camera had captured the confrontation from an angle that made him look defenseless.
The clip spread online before police released any statement.

Ava looked at her.
“They did this to you?”
“Ethan’s family owned the law firm where I worked. After I filed for protection, they released a recording of me shouting while he sat quietly.”
“What happened?”
“I lost my job. Then he told everyone my unemployment proved I had married him for money.”
Ava looked toward the television showing her edited kick repeatedly.
Victoria Cole appeared outside company headquarters in a black suit.
“My family condemns violence in every form,” she told reporters. “My son was attacked by a woman who deceived us all.”
A journalist asked about the belt.
Victoria replied:
“There is no evidence my son intended to hurt anyone.”
Ava’s attorney entered the conference room holding another document.
“Victoria has filed for emergency possession of the penthouse. She claims you are destroying property.”
Ava almost laughed.
“I have not returned there.”
“She also claims the MMA equipment proves premeditation.”
Lena leaned forward.
“Release the full audio.”
The attorney shook her head.
“Not yet. Police want to preserve it for the criminal case.”
Ava watched Victoria’s confident face.
Then she noticed a woman standing behind the reporters.
The woman held a cardboard sign.
