Chapter 15 - The Home Lena Never Sold

During Lena’s divorce, Ethan told her the penthouse had been purchased through a family trust.

She believed she had no claim.

The newly discovered deed showed otherwise.

Lena’s salary and inheritance had funded the down payment.

Ethan transferred the property to Victoria using a forged authorization while Lena was hospitalized after the “glass door accident.”

The same judge who dismissed Lena’s protection complaint approved the transfer.

Now that judge faced federal charges.

The court restored temporary ownership to Lena pending final review.

She stood inside the penthouse for the first time in six years.

The white walls looked different.

Smaller.

Ava remained near the doorway.

“You do not have to stay.”

Lena walked toward the bedroom.

The hidden camera holes were still visible.

“He told me I would never be believed because this was his home.”

She touched the wall.

“It was mine.”

In the closet, investigators found an old locked compartment.

Lena remembered Ethan using it but never knew what it contained.

Police opened it.

Inside were hard drives, photographs, and sealed envelopes.

Ethan had stored recordings from every relationship.

Some videos showed private moments filmed without consent.

Others showed women crying after threats.

He had preserved them as leverage.

A folder labeled AVA — PHASE TWO contained plans for the months after the honeymoon.

First, gain access to her business.

Second, force pregnancy before she could leave.

Third, isolate her from the clinics.

Fourth, create evidence of mental instability.

Ava sat down.

The plan continued for two years.

Ethan intended to have her declared legally unfit, then use the forged ownership agreement to control her company permanently.

The belt was only the beginning.

Lena closed the folder.

“You stopped him on the first night.”

Ava looked at her gloves inside the evidence bag.

“No. You stopped him when you sent the warning.”

“And Marisol found me.”

“And Nikos kept the recording.”

Their survival had become a chain.

One person preserved one piece.

Another believed it.

Another spoke.

No single act had defeated Ethan.

Many acts had.

Investigators also found a sealed letter from Richard Cole written days before his death.

It named Victoria’s crimes and stated his intention to protect Lena, whom he had begun to suspect Ethan was mistreating.

Richard had tried to stop them.
