Margaret stared at the name.
“Evelyn Marsh.”
Reid nodded.
“We believe she is alive.”
Silas had not killed the bookkeeper.
He had hidden her under a guardianship order, changed her surname, and paid a private facility to prevent contact.
If Evelyn still remembered the ledgers, she could connect the original public-money theft to the modern Hale network.
A state team headed toward Maine.
Silas learned of the request within an hour.

He chartered a plane north.
