Chapter 19 - Grace Comes Home
Victoria stood inside the nursery with one hand on the white crib.
The painted words above it still read:
Daddy’s Little Grace.
She asked the workers to remove them.
Not because Grace would grow up without love.
Because Damian did not deserve to define that love.
Elena helped Victoria repaint the wall in soft blue and gold.
Mara installed ordinary security, not hidden surveillance.
Elias placed Edward’s photograph on a shelf beside Catherine’s necklace box.
Three months later, Victoria went into labor during a morning board meeting.
She remained calm until Elena began panicking for both of them.
Grace Catherine Vale was born healthy just before midnight.
She had Victoria’s dark eyes and Edward’s stubborn chin.
When the nurse placed Grace in her arms, Victoria cried harder than she had at the funeral, the betrayal or the trial.

She also established the Catherine Vale Legal Fund for women facing economic control inside their own families.
Serena sent three letters from prison.
Victoria returned all of them unopened.
Damian requested permission to receive photographs of Grace.
Victoria’s attorneys denied the request.
Biology did not create entitlement after deliberate harm.
Grace would learn the truth when she was old enough.
Until then, she would grow up surrounded by people who had chosen to protect her without asking for anything in return.
On the first anniversary of the ballroom broadcast, Victoria received an invitation to host another event at Vale House.
She almost refused.
