Ethan refused to believe it.

“What do you mean she’s gone?”

“Who is gone?” I asked.
He ended the call.
Then he looked at Victoria.
“My mother.”
The room went silent.
Ethan’s mother had been the person who supported him after his father died.
The woman everyone believed was untouchable.
