Rachel brought the original trust to Claire’s hospital room.
Grant and Evelyn had studied summaries, appraisals and public records.
They had never seen the sealed schedule Amelia attached before her death.
The clause concerned coercion.
If Claire’s spouse attempted to obtain Mercer House through abuse, fraud, incapacity proceedings or unauthorized medical access, the trust would activate permanent protections.
The spouse would lose every potential benefit.

Grant had believed the baby would open the estate.
