Hassan’s face went pale with rage.
“You little—”
Another thud echoed from above.
Then the prison alarm died.
Not faded.
Not cut slowly.
It just stopped.
The buzzing lights went red.
Hassan looked toward the stairwell.
“What is happening?”
Alexis stepped into the blind spot beside the door.
“You built a prison under a dead station and thought no one would find it.”
Hassan turned back to her.
His eyes were no longer amused.
“You don’t know anything.”
Alexis’s voice dropped.
“I know there are sixteen civilians in the east corridor.”
The guard beside him stiffened.
“I know two American pilots are alive in the lower room.”
Hassan’s breathing changed.
“I know you moved them here three nights ago because you thought the old compound was compromised.”
Now every guard was staring at her.
Alexis continued.
“And I know you never checked the woman you dragged in from the wreckage because you were too busy making a speech.”
Hassan stared at her like he was seeing her for the first time.
She was not just a prisoner.
She was not just one American woman.
