Investigators returned to the mansion staircase.
One section of railing had been loosened.
The bolts were partially removed and replaced by hand.
A rug near the upper landing had been shifted to cover a slick strip of polished wood.
The security camera facing the stairs had been disconnected three days before Claire’s injury.
Daniel claimed construction workers caused the damage.
No workers had entered that week.
