Chapter 1 - Keep Streaming, Noel

“Relax, it’s content.”
Noel Morgan smiled into the ring light while Alice Morgan knelt on her own kitchen floor with hot tomato soup soaking through her white blouse.
The bowl lay overturned beside her.
Red soup spread across the pale tile like a stain nobody in the room wanted to admit was cruel.
Alice’s hands shook as she pressed a towel against her chest. Her skin burned. Her knees ached. Her breath came in small, controlled pieces because even now, even humiliated in front of thousands of strangers online, she was trying not to make a scene.
That was what Noel counted on.
Alice Morgan was sixty-eight.
A widow.
Polite.
Soft-spoken.
The kind of woman who said thank you when someone stepped on her foot.
Noel sat beside the phone on its tripod, cream sweater perfect, makeup flawless, livestream comments racing up the screen.
Hearts.
Laughing emojis.
Confused questions.
Is this real?
Noel leaned closer to the camera and laughed.
“My mother-in-law is so dramatic, you guys.”
Behind her, Noel’s mother Camille stood frozen near the pantry, one hand over her mouth.
Noel’s sister Sloane looked uncomfortable, but not enough to help.
Alice slowly lifted her eyes to the phone.
The stream was still live.
Still recording.
Still broadcasting the kitchen, the spilled soup, Noel’s smile, Alice on the floor.
Alice looked at Noel.
For the first time all morning, something in her eyes stopped being patient.
“You’re still live.”
Noel’s smile twitched.
Then Alice’s hand moved toward the island.
Beneath makeup wipes, sponsorship papers, and Noel’s printed content schedule, the corner of a blue legal folder showed.
Noel saw Alice notice it.
Her smile faded a little more.
Outside the back window, headlights swept across the driveway.
A black car stopped.
The kitchen door opened hard.
Michael Morgan walked in wearing a dark suit, phone still in his hand from a call he had ended mid-sentence.
He saw the ring light first.
Then the livestream.
Then his mother kneeling on the floor, blouse soaked red, hand shaking against the tile.
Then his eyes moved to the blue legal folder.
His face went cold.
Noel jumped up.
“Michael, it was a joke.”
Michael stepped between Alice and the camera.
He did not shout.
That made it worse.
He pointed at the phone still streaming.
“Keep streaming, Noel.”
Noel turned toward the phone.
The comments were no longer laughing.
They were asking for screenshots.
They were tagging lawyers.
They were tagging brands.
Michael bent down beside Alice, his voice breaking only when he said, “Mom.”
Alice did not look away from the blue folder.
“She hid it under her contracts,” she whispered.
Michael looked at Noel.
And Noel finally understood.
She had not just humiliated Alice online.
May you like
She had livestreamed herself standing beside the evidence.
👉 Noel thought the livestream made Alice powerless, but the blue folder proved Alice had been preparing to fight back before the soup ever hit the floor.
