The ballroom remained frozen.
Nobody moved.
Nobody spoke.
Dominic stared at the screens as if he could force them back to normal through sheer anger.

“No.”

“What did you do?”
I looked at him.
“What you should have done months ago.”
His expression changed.
“You went through my files?”
“No.”
I smiled slightly.
“I went through my own life.”
Because every missing dinner.
Every unexplained trip.
Every secret phone call.
Every time Dominic told me I was imagining things…
It left a trail.
And now everyone could see it.
Then the screen showed a photograph.
A photograph of Dominic entering a private apartment.

The ballroom erupted.
Dominic immediately looked at Chloe.
Not at me.
Not at Sophia.
At Chloe.
That was when I knew something important.

Then Victor’s voice returned.

A new file appeared.
One labeled with Dominic’s company name.
And underneath it was a sentence that made Dominic lose all color from his face.
